I've been working as a professional artist for over a decade. I began my career sculpting fossil replicas and modeling life restorations of dinosaurs and fossil horses for institutions like Duquesne University and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. During that time I gained a thorough understanding of vertebrate anatomy that continues to positively shape my creature design.
Following that I did some toy design work for Bossa Nova Robotics on their "Mechatars" line. They needed designs altered or completely redesigned and resculpted for manufacturing purposes. During this time I also designed some miniature gaming pieces for Harwood Hobbies.
In early 2010 I was hired by 5th Planet Games where I remained for six years. I began designing and painting armor sets, troops, and quest art for their role playing game "Dawn of the Dragons." I created the visual designs for many of the main characters and help shaped the aesthetics and cultures of the various races within the game world. I was eventually promoted to assistant art director. I was tasked with helping the art director schedule tasks, train and communicate with our international artists, and develop concepts for the other artists to follow. During that time I continued to produce art from concept through finalized assets for our games. Toward the end of my time with 5PG I had taken over the majority of art duties on "Curio Quest" a cute and cartoony monster battling game.
